A bit about me
I'm a digital native and multidisciplinary designer who's been making user-friendly, accessible products for over a decade, and I still get a kick out of turning a mess of constraints into something people actually enjoy using.
I've led design-system and experimentation work, mentored growing teams, and shipped services used at national scale under strict government and accessibility standards. Most recently I've worked as a Product Design Consultant at Car Finance 247, bringing AI into every stage of the process to ship faster than a traditional workflow allows. But I'm a designer first, and the fundamentals never change: understand the people, define the outcome, prove the work.
Deep design-systems experience: tokens, variables and multi-brand architecture in Figma. I build working websites and prototypes in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with AI doing the heavy lifting these days.
I'm originally from Portugal and have been living in the UK for over 10 years now. I started out in computer engineering, realised a year in that it wasn't for me, and switched to a Game Design degree and an Erasmus year in Finland that changed how I see design and the world (meeting the "real" Santa was a nice bonus).
Outside of work I've just "finished" renovating one of two rustic Portuguese cottages with my dad. The work continues but the plan is to split time between Portugal and England for the foreseeable future. The rest of my time goes on travelling as much as I can, films and gaming to unwind and catch up with friends and family back home.

Where I've worked

Led design and delivery of a white-label web product that gives independent UK dealers a proper, finance-ready presence online, using AI right through the process so we shipped faster than a normal workflow allows.

On a fully autonomous team improving things for civil servants and jobseekers across the country. Modernised legacy systems, automated manual work and designed services used at national scale under strict accessibility standards.

Part of an autonomous product team pulling three separate platforms into one white-label experience. Led a design system and experimentation initiative to bring teams closer together.

Lured back by an old manager to join the Product Page team. Shipped two company-wide projects and a run of experiments, and led work on team training, the design system and accessibility across the site.

Worked with the Head of UX at a London insurtech to grow their SaaS product, and led the evolution of their design system.

Built a React Native app that gives thousands of travellers live flight info, tracking and alerts every day. Also worked on the private terminal, FastTrack and parking.

Started as a UX Designer and grew into the Lead role. Over three years I shipped two customer apps and plenty of web work, from a new checkout to fresh product ranges, helped build the design system the whole business now runs on, and mentored new designers.

The only designer in the business, so I did everything: emails, packaging, leaflets and white-label sites. Brought in A/B testing to sharpen the customer experience.

Sole web and graphic designer supporting the marketing strategy. Found ways to stretch the brand and ran the website day to day.
Built my portfolio through my degree, picking up web, graphic and print work for a range of companies.
